Basic Arborist

5-Day Workshop

No less than 40 hours, 40 ISA CEUs*

This workshop is designed for individuals who have not had professional tree care training or for others who have not yet learned to climb with a rope and saddle.

Prerequisites:

• Physical ability to climb using rope and saddle
• Minimal fear of heights
• Ability and willingness to follow directions
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather
• Must be drug and alcohol free during training

Participants will learn:

• Basic tree function, structure, growth patterns
• Basic tree identification
• 8 common knots used in tree care
• To climb to a height of at least 20’
• How to complete a work skills climb in the field
• Basic limb walking
• Tree removal techniques
• Current ANSI Standards
• To use chain saws safely
• To complete a safe aerial rescue

* All of our classes are available in both English and Spanish. Classes also qualify for ISA Continuing Education Units, if requested - ask us for details.

** All classes require a $50 registration fee. Full tuition for the class is due 10 days prior to start of the class. Cash , MasterCard, Visa, Purchase Order accepted. An enrollment may be cancelled provided ACRT is notified in writing of the cancellation. Refunds are made no later than 30 days after cancellation.
